I never got around to writing any year end “best of lists.” There are plenty of those out there. Just Google your favorite thing and I’m sure someone has compiled as list.
Instead, what I’ve decided to do is share my year in books.
I’m a steady if not voracious reader. I’ve always got a book going and a few lined up on the nightstand ready to go. My interests, as I’m sure has become evident, are all over the place. There will be crime fiction, science fiction, urban fantasy, business books and biographies.
I generally try to read at least one classic each year. This year I’ll be stretching the definition with “I Am Legend.”
I gave the world of Star Wars fiction a try for the first time since the early 80s, mainly because my kids are so hugely into Star Wars right now.
This was also the year I dove into Hard Case Crime and the Texas noir of Joe R. Lansdale.
Some I reviewed for GonzoGeek this year. Some I intended to.
Yes, I count those trade paperbbacks I read.
And yes, I keep a list.
