With only one fight left, this week’s show featured the guy we love to hate, Jamie Yager, taking on Josh Bryant.
Yager has talked trash for the entire series. Unfortunately for his opponents, he has backed it up with some sick knockouts.
Tonight he takes on the guy the housemates called Spongebob Squareback.
Yager has looked unstoppable in the Octagon, and, frankly, like the favorite. That all changed early in the first round when Bryant landed one in his face and sent Yager tumbling to the mat. Yager was a changed fighter after that. He was tentative and afraid. The more Bryant hit him the more he died inside.
By the time the second round was over, so was Yager.
He refused to answer the bell to start the third round, so Bryant won by TKO.
Tito Ortiz had a few choice words for Yager, many of them slang for female genitalia.
Yager left the training center in a neck brace and an ambulance.
After the fight, Dana White called Tito Ortiz into his office. He explained to Tito that he had booked him an appointment with a doctor in LA for a second opinion. Then he informed Tito that he was done on The Ultimate Fighter.
That’s right, Dana White fired Tito Ortiz.
Tito left the training center in a huff, not even telling his fighters what had happened. He left that to White.
Stay classy Tito.
Tito eventually returned to the house for a gab session and kumbaya moment with his team.
The semi-finals are announced. They are:
Brad Tavares v. Court McGee
Chris McKray v. Josh Bryant
Then, to end the show, Dana White introduces Team Ortiz to their new coach, Rich Franklin, the man who has taken Ortiz’ place in the fight with Chuck Liddell.
